Swapping or trading in rifles??? - magnum 257

I've got a, 257 Weatherby Magnum, and calls to change a Sako 75 in.223. I want to know whether weapons can share with a weapon or "Joe Blow" to be done on the road, and it is legal and what can I do to change it?
